about us

Camp Nookoowai, Blackfoot for “my home”, has served our indigenous families in Southern Alberta in the areas of Lethbridge, Pincher Creek, and Cardston for the past 26 years. We serve children from the Blood, Piikani, Eden Valley, Morley Tsuut’ina, and Siksika reserves.

Georgian Native & Outreach Ministries

Georgia Native & Outreach Ministries has been in operation for over 20 years holding summer camps with our indigenous families. Last year we expanded our impact to Alberta where the team of Camp Nookoowai joined us.The Ontario team leading Smoky Trail camps stepped down for the moment.

Our vision remains clear, to share the love of Jesus with our children in the Southern Alberta regions.

Curt & Gail Mcdougall

We are blessed to have Curt McDougall from Piikani to lead the board as Chair.

dan & barb kees

Dan and Barb Kees are supposed to be retired, but they love the people in the Lethbridge region so much that they keep on serving. We love their stories and rich inheritance, a great asset to the team. Of course, Barb’s cookies are the best.

pieter & renee de waal

As the camp treasurer, Pieter takes charge of admin and financials. Renee balances it out by leading the creative side of camp! Together with their kids they lead skill building activities, crafts, and more.

Bruce & lisa coles

Bruce and Lisa are from Ontario. They have been serving at Camp since 2015. Bruce is a retired Fire Captain and is always on hand if there is an emergency. They are willing to help wherever needed, but you will usually find them preparing meals in the kitchen. Seeing the kids’ smiles and building relationships keep them coming back each year!

our hope for
the future

Our hope is to have the same reach as when Jesus announced his ministry:

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the broken hearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed.”

Isaiah 61:1
